Schweg writes most of what you’ll read here. Friends contribute when they have something worth talking about. The common thread is curiosity, a point of view, and a healthy tolerance for the absurd.
Away from the site, Schweg works with databases and software, hangs out with Rose and Violet, and plays games on his Steam Deck. The cats have yet to contribute a publishable draft.

how it’s built
Because I have over a decade of software engineering experience and apparently don’t know how to leave work at work, I built a custom, open-source WordPress theme for this site.

- A feed that fits the post: Video and audio players, short updates, images, and longer articles each get an appropriate presentation.
- A responsive magazine layout: Cards and navigation adapt to the screen, with a sticky header and support for reduced motion.
- Open-web connections: Standard WordPress plugins provide Bluesky/AT Protocol and Mastodon/ActivityPub integration.
- Light and dark: The site follows your device’s preference, with a sun/moon switch when you want to choose for yourself.
